SPECIAL INTERESTS AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES

When I am not busy with my academic work their are many things that I enjoy doing in my free time. You can find a selection of some of my favourite past-times below.

WITHIN UNIVERSITY

WATERFRONT DANCE MUSIC JOURNALIST

I write for Swansea University's own fortnightly student newspaper as a Dance Music journalist. This involves writing articles and reviewing club events that are going on in and around Swansea. Waterfront, is a free publication and is run by the Student Union.

ATHLETICS UNION

As a member of the Ahletics Union I regularly go to the University Gym and Sports Centre. Later during this Lent Term I will hopefully be playing in the Lewis-Jones Inter-Hall Rugby Team.

OUTSIDE OF UNIVERSITY

CLUBBING AND DANCE MUSIC

Undoubtedly my favourite past time, Dance Music is my life (second of course to University!!!). My favourite styles of Dance music are Progressive House and Trance and one of my favourite DJ's is the legendary PAUL OAKENFOLD who has set up the PERFECTO record label along with Steve Osbourne.

My weekends would be nothing without PETE TONG'S ESSENTIAL SELECTION Friday nights at 7pm on RADIO 1.

READING

To awaken myself rom the boredom of History textbooksthere is nothing better than reading a copy of MUZIK magazine to keep me informed on what is going on in the Dance Music scene.

The book that I am currently reading is Dune by Frank Herbert, a book which has been turned into film by DAVID LYNCH, a man who features in my next interset...

CULT FILM AND TELEVISION

There is a vast list of many cult films and TV shows which I am particularily fond of. Within the world of film. The recent re-release of the STAR WARS Trilogy Special Edition has recreated my fascination of this epic science fiction saga. I admire the directorial talent of DAVID LYNCH, who directed such films as Dune, Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man, Eraser Head and Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me.

Twin Peaks, the television series, is also one of my favourite cult TV programmes, along with THE SIMPSONS is simply the best cartoon that has ever been made.
